The Institute for the Study of Christian Zionism’s podcast, Bad Theology: Busted, recently wrapped its 10th and final episode for the season. If you haven’t listened in yet, please check it out; the brilliant team comprised of Jesse Wheeler of FOSNA, Dee Roberts of Candler School of Theology, and the New York City-based producer Karl Saint Lucy have put together an incredible resource delving into Christian Zionism in a variety of contexts, from US media to South Africa to Latin America, with some of the most knowledgeable and dynamic voices critiquing the ideology today.
With an audience spanning over 50 countries and 570 cities, Season 1 achieved over 4,400 episode downloads and YouTube views as well as over 116.5K short content views between Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
We are now in the planning stages for podcast’s second season and are calling on our friends to help make sure we have enough support to make it happen. We’re in need of $25,000 to ensure that those who create the podcast – particularly the producers – are compensated for their labor, as well as that we have the technology needed to continue to offer a high-quality program.
Will you be part of this initiative by supporting the podcast?
We are keen to continue identifying and exposing the dangerous ideology that is Christian Zionism in, as the podcast team says, “all the places where it hides.”
Please help us do just that. And please don’t wait – the deadline to donate is October 15.
In solidarity,
Mimi Kirk

Why Support Bad Theology: Busted?
Christian Zionism has become a powerful global force, influencing foreign policy, shaping public opinion, and justifying violence against Palestinian civilians. Despite its significant impact, many Christians lack the theological tools to critically examine this ideology. Common misconceptions include:
- The belief that supporting Israel unconditionally is a biblical mandate.
- Misinterpretations of scripture used to justify displacement and apartheid.
- A lack of awareness regarding the suffering inflicted on Palestinian Christians and Muslims.
These theological errors perpetuate harm, silence prophetic voices, and hinder efforts toward peace and reconciliation.
By funding this season, you are supporting critical theological education that challenges dominant narratives, equips faith leaders with more authentic biblical interpretation, and amplifies the voices of those resisting oppressive ideologies. In an era where misinformation spreads rapidly through religious networks, Bad Theology: Busted provides a rigorous, accessible, and compassionate counter-narrative rooted in justice and truth.
The work of ISCZ is grounded in rigorous scholarship and a deep commitment to justice. By investing in Bad Theology: Busted, you are not just funding a podcast; you are funding:
- Truth-Telling: Countering state-sanctioned propaganda and fake news with accuracy.
- Community Building: Creating space for difficult but necessary conversations within faith communities.
- Long-Term Change: Equipping the next generation of believers with the tools to resist harmful ideologies.
We invite you to join us in this vital work. Your contribution will ensure that Bad Theology: Busted reaches those most influenced by Christian Zionist narratives, offering them a path toward a theology grounded in love of neighbor and a just peace for those living in the Holy Land. Together, we can bust bad theology and build a more just future.
